Lash Care Tips
When it comes to reusable synthetic silk lashes, the magic isn’t just in how stunning they look—it’s also in how easy they are to use and care for. One of the most important parts of lash care is learning how to remove them properly from the packaging it comes in! Improper removal can damage your new lashes or mess up the intended shape. But don’t worry! We’ve created a step-by-step video guide to walk you through the process and keep your lashes looking flawless for every wear.
Whether you're new to falsies or a seasoned pro, knowing the best way to remove them ensures they last longer, stay in great condition, and remain easy to apply the next time around.
Step 1: Removing Lashes from the Packaging
Taking your lashes out of the packaging for the first time is exciting, but it’s also important to be gentle. Mishandling them at this stage can bend the lash band or damage the fibers.
How to Do It Right:
-
Start by identifying the lash band’s placement in the tray.
-
Use your thumb and forefinger or a pair of tweezers to lift the outer edge of the lash band gently.
-
Slowly peel the lash away from the tray, working toward the inner corner.
-
Avoid pulling on the lash fibers themselves, as this can distort their shape.
Our Founder/CEO, Kate Moshika, created a quick video for all of our #MoshikaBeauties to show how to properly remove our lashes before every wear! Watch HERE or click the image below
Once removed, hold the lashes up to your eyes to check if they fit. If the band is too long, trim it slightly from the outer corner to match your lash line.
Step 2: Removing Lashes After Wear
After a long day or night of wearing your lashes, proper removal is key to preserving both the reusable lashes and your natural ones.
Steps for Safe Removal:
-
Soften the Adhesive: Use a cotton pad soaked in oil-free makeup remover or micellar water. Gently press it against your eyelid for 10-15 seconds to loosen the adhesive.
-
Peel Off the Lashes: Starting from the outer corner, carefully lift the lash band using your fingers or tweezers. Slowly peel it toward the inner corner. If you feel resistance, reapply the cotton pad to soften the glue further.
-
Avoid Tugging: Never force the lashes off, as this can damage both the reusable lash band and your natural lashes.
#MoshikaBeauties Tip: Pair any lash with our Limitless Lash Liner (in Jet Black or Clear) to skip the messy glue removal process. Your natural lashes will thank you!
Step 3: Cleaning Your Lashes
Cleaning your lashes is a quick but important step to ensure they stay in top condition for multiple wears.
How to Clean Properly:
-
Hold the lash band gently and use tweezers to remove any adhesive or eyeshadow residue
-
Dampen a cotton swab with micellar water and lightly wipe the band to remove makeup or oils.
-
Avoid soaking the lashes, as this can weaken the band and affect their durability.
-
Brush out the synthetic, silk lashes with a spoolie or eyebrow brush to separate the fibers
Clean lashes not only last longer but also stay more hygienic for your next application.
Step 4: Storing Your Lashes
Storing your reusable lashes correctly is the final step in their care routine. Proper storage protects them from dust, dirt, and accidental damage.
Best Practices for Storage:
-
Place the cleaned lashes back in their original case. This helps them maintain their curved shape and protects the fibers.
-
Avoid leaving lashes loose on surfaces, as they can collect dirt or lose their structure.
-
If you’ve trimmed your lashes, keep the trimmed pieces for possible future adjustments.
Keeping them stored properly will make your next application seamless and stress-free.
Bonus Tips for Getting More Wear
-
Handle with Care: Always use tweezers or your fingertips to handle the band, not the fibers.
-
Avoid Oil-Based Products: These can weaken the adhesive and damage the lash band.
-
Rotate Pairs: If you wear lashes regularly, alternating between two pairs can help extend their overall lifespan.
